There is room for improvement in several aspects of the business model, including the level of buy-in from the health care team, the level of patient engagement, and the level of technology.

It is necessary for medication therapy management, which is also known as MTM, to comply with the criteria that were outlined in the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003.  The Medicare beneficiaries who are eligible to receive MTM services are the ones who are held accountable for adhering to these criteria. Medicare Part D, which is a component of the larger Medicare program, outlines all of these prerequisites and requirements for participation.2,3However, there are challenges that must first be overcome in order for MTM services to be successfully integrated into the workflow of community pharmacies.
 

A greater number of medication therapy problem (MTP) recommendations were provided by community pharmacists.(P. According to the evidence that is currently at our disposal, having access to a variety of different types of technology is one of the most important aspects of MTM services. The findings of another study shed light on the obstacles that must be surmounted and the strategies that must be implemented in order to successfully implement a web-based medication management application in community pharmacies.
