EA has released new commissioner tools

The report received attention in part due to  Mut 22 coins the fact that franchise mode is a source of contention for certain Madden players. In reality, the roadmap was initially a response to the #fixmaddenfranchise hashtag that was circulated on Twitter between mid-2020. It began following reports that EA didn't plan to make improvements to franchise mode that year.

Since since then, EA has released new commissioner tools and other improvements as well as a major overhaul of its scouting systems. Madden 22 also included an expanded scenario engine, cutscenes in season and coaching skills trees. Yet, fans continue to highlight various areas where franchise mode is able to make improvements relative to other games, from the relative lack of customization to the multitude of bugs.

Although EA Sports wouldn't provide any additional details, additional improvements remain on the table for some point next year. The updates could include the expansion of franchises and improvements in the initial roadmap in Madden 22. Expect more details in 2022.
