New World Stonecutting Guide

In New World, Stonecutting is a Refining Skill that lets you refine Raw Gemstones into Cut Gemstones for weapons and armor by using a Stonecutting Table in a settlement. It is perfect for players who want to make their Gemstones from scratch without waiting for them to drop from enemies or quests.

You'll find plenty of resources needed to do so as you travel Aeternum. So this guide tells you all you need to know about Stonecutting, including how to level up quickly on the island of Aeternum.

So how do you level up Stonecutting in New World? Well, you can simply cut lots of and lots of gems constantly. The more gems you cut, the higher level you will reach. The more difficult job here is gathering all the resources involved, which gets harder at higher tiers.

The quickest way to level up your Stonecutting skill in New World is to craft stone blocks. You can find stone anywhere in Aeternum, mined from boulders. With this, you can craft a stone block with four pieces of stone. Stone blocks can be used in settlements or fortresses, and you can also sell them at the trading post to earn extra new world mmo coins.

Each stone block adds 36 points to Stonecutting, so filling your inventory space with stone and mass-producing stone blocks can really increase your skill level quickly. With your levels rapidly increasing, you can get to craft the more important items.

The most important items to craft with Stonecutting are cut gemstones. Players can gather uncut gemstones from mining ore veins and refine them into cut gemstones, which can fit into any piece of armor or weapon with an open gem socket. Each gemstone has different effects, like damage type, threat reduction/addition, and damage absorption.

Level 1-50: Stone Block, requires 4 Stone
Level 51-100: Ruby, Topaz, and Aquamarine
Level 101-150: Lodestone Brick, Brilliant Topaz, Brilliant Aquamarine
Level 151-200: Brilliant Topaz, Brilliant Aquamarine, Obsidian Voidstone

In addition, the Stonecutting table Tiers are very important as you'll need a Stonecutting table of a specific tier for a specific gemstone:

To level up a Stonecutting Table's Tier, you and other players on your server need to complete requests from that settlement's Town Project Board—it's unfortunately not something you can do on your own.
