It is recommended that you only clean your Topette or deep wave wig when it is absolutely necessary to do so. In order to prevent any mishaps from occurring while washing the item, you should first secure it to a mannequin head before beginning the process. Before washing the cap, it is important to attach the piece to a mannequin head in order to reduce the risk of the hair becoming tangled inside the cap. This is the step that is considered to be the most important.

We recommend using a block head made of rubberized plastic rather than one made of Styrofoam as an alternative to a head made of Styrofoam. Because of their small size and shape, the deep wave wig cap will not end up becoming stretched out when using the FOLLEA Perfect Care MannequinsTM. These mannequins are ideal for the application described. The fact that Folea mannequins are exceptionally long-lasting and come equipped with a table clamp to make styling them easier makes them the ideal companion for a Folea hairpiece. Folea mannequins also come in a variety of sizes to accommodate different hairstyles. Simply secure the deep wave wig to the mannequin head using a few small sewing pins, making sure to position the pins in such a way that they are strategically placed at the temples and nape of the head.

The first thing that you need to do is wet the hair.

After you have fastened the hairpiece to the head of the mannequin, proceed to wet the hair by pouring water from the crown to the ends of the hair and allowing it to run down in the direction that the hair would normally fall. Take extra precautions to ensure that you always rinse using this uncomplicated technique.

It is important that you do not rewet your hair in a circular motion when you are applying water to it.

You'll want to move the water so that it's not too far away from the hair.

The second step is to shampoo the hair.

Put a little less than a tenth of an ounce, or about a quarter of an ounce, of shampoo into your hands. While you are working the shampoo into the hair with your fingertips in a slow and gentle motion, give the hair a light squeeze every so often. It is best to avoid using circular motions on the hair while you are lathering it with shampoo. In addition to that, you should check to see that the interior of the cap has been shampooed. You need to give your FOLLEA a thorough rinse, and then you should do it again to make certain that it does not have any residue that has built up on it.

It is highly recommended that you make use of restorative shampoos and conditioners that are of salon quality if you wish to achieve the best possible results.

Step 3 - Rinsing

Repeat the process of thoroughly rinsing the hair with water to remove any traces of shampoo that may have been left behind. To accomplish this, proceed in the same manner as described earlier and pour water from the top down to the bottom of the plant. Carry on with the process until the water is no longer cloudy. The completion of this process should take no longer than a few minutes.

The fourth step is to condition yourself.

Beginning at the nape of the neck and working your way up toward the roots, pause the application of the conditioner about half an inch short of the roots at the end of the process. Be sure to use a generous amount of conditioner for this step. To ensure that the conditioner is distributed in an even manner throughout the hair, move your hands through the hair in a gentle motion. Give the conditioner three to four minutes to fully absorb into the hair so that it can perform its transformative effects. It is recommended that you wash your hair carefully. The removal of any additional moisture is the fifth step in the process.

Remove the wig featuring the deep wave style that is attached to the mannequin. To remove any excess water, carefully wrap the hairpiece in the towel, and then gently squeeze it from the roots to the ends. Use a comb that has wide teeth to comb through the hair, and then move on to the next step only after the cap of the deep wave wig has had time to air dry.

Step 6: Add Some Personality to It

To achieve the look you want, blow-dry your hair on the cool setting of your dryer before styling it. It is essential to keep in mind that the more blow dryers and heat styling tools that are used, the faster the deep wave wig or hairpiece will become dry and/or damaged. It is also important to keep in mind that this is a linear relationship. If you blow-dry your hair at a cool temperature, you will cause the least amount of damage possible to your tresses. The use of air-drying is yet another technique that can be put to use in order to achieve a more natural appearance.

A word of advice: before you begin the process of styling your hair with thermal tools, you should always apply a thermal protectant to your tresses in order to safeguard them from potential damage.
