Madden 23 is going to be released on August 19th, 2022. In anticipation of the upcoming sports title, fans are eager to learn more, including who some top-rated players are. EA has announced that Madden 23 Rating Week will begin on July 18th. The event will release all overalls for each player and team, so players can start seeing the ratings of their favorite players and teams.
However, there seems to have been a leak that confirms the ratings of the quarterbacks in the game. The top-rated quarterbacks in Madden NFL 23 are Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. That they are all elite is not in doubt, so we look below at what they may have gotten the ratings.
1 - Patrick Mahomes, 99 OVR
Despite not making the Super Bowl in 2021, Patrick Mahomes is still widely regarded as the most talented QB in the NFL. Many will question the rationale here considering he was not at his best last season. But maybe that is the entire point: his best is higher than the others. He did not make it to the Super Bowl last season but to the AFC Championship game. That is more than the league MVP Aaron Rodgers and stats leader Tom Brady did. He threw for 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns. He returns to the league, having initially retired, and will have a chip on his shoulder to win the whole thing again. Even it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him reach the 99 overall in Madden 23 if he plays at the level we all know he is capable of playing.
4 - Josh Allen, 95 OVR
If the game makers are looking to forecast the 2022 league MVP, they could easily cast their lot with the Bills’ franchise quarterback, given his potential to put up ridiculous numbers while leading his team to the promised land. Allen has joined the ranks of the elite at the game’s most important position; in fact, a five-star season could put him in play to wear the crown as the NFL’s new QB1. Considering how the football world adores blue-chip quarterbacks, Allen’s emergence as a dual-threat superstar could make him the perfect cover selection. But where he has lacked, and which sees his points fall, is the consistency to be right up there with the best and do it day in and day out.
5 - Lamar Jackson, 92 OVR
At the last of the list is Lamar Jackson, former NFL MVP in 2021. Although Jackson had to play 5 games last year, he is still the best runner in QB League history. He had less than 3000 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. But where he still shines and gets a high rating in Madden NFL 23 is as a running quarterback. Lamar Jackson has played with a chip on his shoulder his entire football career. Maybe this year’s rankings will light a fire under the dual-threat quarterback.
